If you could do one thing over in your professional life, what would it be, and why?

I think this could be the best possible information you could give to young people starting out, and even to people who are already on the path. There may be only one major decision every five or ten years in your life, so you don’t get much experience at making such decisions. Other people’s experiences could prove extremely helpful.

I should have stopped working and earning a living with doing the things I like, my passions, a lot earlier. We all go through different careers which aren’t always fulfilling, but we learn a lot. At a certain point I made the decision to only do the things I really like and guess what? I’m still learning.

Bad Memories

Why do people have bad memories etched in their mind and find it difficult to forget?

Because they ask the why and not the how.
The answer to how do they remember will make them realise how to forget, if necessary.

Hi,

  1. The Swish, for not such bad memories (and change their behavior related to the memory)
  2. Change Submodalities (put the best submodalities on top of the bad ones)
  3. Time Line for very very bad memories. In Time Line I first ask my clients to create their ‘Perfect I’ (with all the positive characteristics, values and beliefs) in the future, then go back and taken the Perfect I to any moment before the bad memory and together with the perfect I the person (most often a child) relives and recreates the experience. Supported by the ‘Perfect I’. It works like magic. And memories of incest, violations of all sorts, the very very bad memories, change within seconds. I use my hypnotic voice or do the Time Line in a hypnosis. 5 to 10 minutes are often enough.

Works like a charm.

Thought control and listening to your heart

We are bombarded with tons of information each day. Friends, Family, colleagues, bosses, the news etc.
It is in our best interest to manage what gets heard and registered and what not.
It is great to have a free press, but when that means listening to horrific stories we can not influence, these must be censored.
When the office whiner comes over to dump the daily toxic dose of complaints, this person too must be screened out.
Clients require our utmost attention. So does family, and so does our heart.
How do you filter your thoughts and listen to your heart?

Is it worth going beyond LinkedIn?

A friend of mine sent me an invitation to Plaxo last night, so I thought, “what the heck…” and a half hour later I had a modest profile, some contacts, my logo, etc. But there are a zillion of these services, and I seem to get these requests constantly (the latest one is Tagged, which seems to spam you repeatedly unless you respond on their timetable).

Is it worth investing time in curating a profile on each of these systems? In a few of them? Or is LinkedIn sufficient? Are people generating business leads out of the others? Ga door! →

How would you make sure prospects run away from you?

We all know lots of techniques to attrack prospects. Just for fun and out of curiosity: what would you do to do the opposite? What would you do to make sure the prospect doesn’t want to do any business with you?

Tell them your competitors stink. They wil run to find out why.
